Our chat fest with Beyoncé and Tina Knowles went into overtime and we couldn't fit the whole info-packed interview in the magazine. So here's more of what this dynamic mother/daughter fashion team had to say about their hip clothing line. Plus, Tina's styling tips.

COSMO: How did your House of Dereon line come to be?
BEYONCÉ: My fans kept asking where they could get clothes like Destiny's Child's, so it was only natural for us to do a clothing line. I was adamant about not putting my name on something that I didn't love. I wanted to make sure it was true and honest and really something that we designed. 

COSMO: Do you design with your daughter's style in mind?
TINA: The dresses definitely reflect Beyoncé's taste and style.

Before arriving at our photo shoot and interview,Beyonce stipulatated certain catering needs, which included, ‘no chips, no candy, no desserts, no junk food, no fried food’.

Why the so-strict diet rules? Beyoncé has recently finished back-to-back filming, which involved gaining 20lb for the role of '50s soul and blues legend Etta James in Cadillac Records, and subsequently had to shed the same amount for her next project, the psychological thriller Obsessed. Putting on the pounds ‘was so much fun’, she confesses. ‘But I had to lose it. I was so angry with myself. I was like, “Doh!” Why do you have to go through this?”’ You can’t blame a girl for wishing to avoid temptation, particularly one whose living is partly dependent on her looks.'

She’s been quoted in the past as saying there’s a time limit on being a pop star. ‘Being a pop star, yes,’ she responds. ‘Being a legend, an icon, absolutely not. And, at this point, that’s what I’m trying to do. I’m over being a pop star. I don’t wanna be a hot girl. I wanna be iconic. And I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot. I feel like I’m highly respected, which is more important than any award or any amount of records. And I feel like there comes a point when being a pop star is not enough.’

Beyoncé (born Beyoncé Giselle Knowles, September 4, 1981) is an American pop/rnb singer, songwriter, record producer, actress and model. Beyoncé was named Billboard’s Top Female Artist of the 2000s in February 2009 as well as their Artist of the Millennium in May 2011. She was the RIAA’s top certified and best-selling overall artist of the decade and the NRJ Music Awards also awarded her as their Artist of the Decade in France. She is one of the most influential artists of the century with record sales surpassing 130 million. She holds the record for the most viewed female viral video of all time withSingle Ladies (Put a Ring on It) which has views of 600+ million.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Beyoncé began performing in local competitions at age 7, eventually forming the group Girl’s Tyme in 1990 with help from her parents. Girl’s Tyme became Destiny’s Child in 1997.
